  Joining as a Cadet

If you are aged 12, and are in the academic year 8 at school, just go along to your nearest Cadet Detachment, see the Locations Map on the Navigation Board on the top left of the page.

Life in the ACF really is great fun, as many thousands of Cadets would agree. It offers numerous opportunities that are not normally accessible to young people.

If you are interested in becoming a Cadet or would like more information, we will always be pleased to answer any questions you may have.

We can also arrange for you to spend some time with the Cadets at your nearest Detachment (with no obligation to join) to experience first hand, what Cadet life is all about.

If you like what you see, simply collect a joining form (you will have to take the form home for a parent/guardian to complete and sign).

Please Note:

A uniform will be issues however, only on a loan basis and will need to be kept clean and in good repair.

Unfortunately, the ACF is unable to provide boots.

if you decide that the ACF is not for you after the uniform has bee issued then the  uniform must be returned to your local detachment.

It’s as simple as that
