Welcome to our Sports Page Cross Country Regional Champions 2005 On 19th February 2005 Lancashire Army Cadet Force sent a team to Warcop, Cumbria to the Regional Cross Country Championships where their teams were placed first in every category and we had three Regional Champions.
Lancashire went on to form the bulk of the North West team at the National Championships but were unplaced against tough competition Also in February 2005 both our teams enjoyed good success with our Junior Boys becoming Regional Champions. Five juniors and two seniors were selected to be in the Regional teams for the Nationals.
Below are just a few of the cadets that participated in the Regional Cross Country Championships held at Warcop in Cumbria.
Junior Boys Football Regional Champions 2005 On 26th February 2005 Lancashire Army Cadet Force sent a Junior and a Senior team to Altcar, Merseyside to the Regional Football Championships. The Junior Boys squad (below) won all their matches convincingly to become Regional Champions with some excellent team performances.

The Senior Boys squad (above) lost only one of their games, but Cumbria came away with the trophy making our team runners up. Again an excellent team performance. Six Lancashire players were selected to represent the North West Region at the National Football & Cross Country held at Warcop (Cumbria) the weekend 18 - 19 March 05. Hockey National Finalists 2005 In June we held trials for the Regional Hockey squad to go forward to the National Competition. None of the other counties sent girls to the trials so the squad was formed from 13 girls from Lancashire Army Cadet Force. The finals were held at Strensall near York on the 9th July and the team came second to a very strong Northern Ireland team much to the delight of the County Sports Officer Captain Beverley Carroll
Swimming Regional Champions 2005 In September attention turned to swimming, with first the County competition on the 3rd September and then the Regional Finals competition at Ellesmere Port Liverpool on the 17th. Lancashire entered a competitor in every race and were faced with some stiff opposition but came away Regional Champions. Several cadets are sure to be in the team for the National Championships later in the year.

Lancashire came away with 8 individual Gold Medals and 2 relay Gold’s. We also won 8 Silver Medals
The team results were as follows: Junior Girls - 1st Place Junior Boys - 3rd Place Senior Boys - 2nd Place Senior Girls - 1st Place

Several of our swimmers were selected to represent the North West Team at the National Finals held at Catterick on the 8th Oct 05.
